2024.
Celebrating 20 years of #BridgingTheGap through hockey as a family in 2023, we are excited to embark on the journey of the next 20 years in 2024. Our program has garnered recognition from various esteemed sources, including local news, the Baltimore Sun, the Baltimore Banner, the Baltimore Ravens, the Washington Capitals, the New York Times, the National Hockey League (NHL), and more! A heartfelt thank you to every sponsor, donor, and supporter for their invaluable contributions in bridging the gap for our players.
We will continue to use hockey as a vehicle and lasting relationships to create cycles of success in marginalized youth in Baltimore.
As always, it's a great year to be a Banner.
TRANSITION TO ADULTHOOD
The Transition to Adulthood efforts involve not just individual programs like Bridge to Independence and Bridge to Entrepreneurship, but our efforts are woven into the sports program, and into the individual kids’ long-term relationship with the coach-mentors they have connected with.

Bridge to Entreprenuership
We assist individuals in launching their own small businesses, pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors, or establishing themselves as independent tradespeople. While some may opt for an apprenticeship, others choose a personalized approach, supported with financial aid from The Tender Bridge.
PAST EVENTS
On behalf of Tender Bridge and Baltimore Banners Ice Hockey, we’d like to thank everyone who showed their support for this years’ Memorial Game (2/25).
The final score was 8-4 in favor of Team “Friends of Phil”, but anyone in attendance will tell you that this game was not about the outcome. It was about sportsmanship. Late in the game and down by 6, Banners Captain Ronald Phillips put it perfectly to Head Coach Matt Leone “Really, I’m just happy to see these guys get a win in memory of their friend Phil.” Well said, Ronald.
Phil’s family and friends turned out in large numbers, as did the Tender Bridge Family, making for an homecoming-like atmosphere in the Patterson Park bubble that was warm, welcoming and loud as always. With a DJ serenading the gaps in play, a merch and raffle stand buzzing with support, and catering for all, these games always please and we owe thanks to everyone who helps make it possible. Special shout out to sponsors, Gray and Sons and The Ian Thomas Foundation for their anchoring support.
For Abe and Peanut and Phil, their presence was felt in the rink on Sunday and their legacy carries on proudly. We play for them and we’ll never forget it.
All in, we’ve raised a proud $17,000 to date. This is shy of our goal and what we need to keep sustaining Tender Bridge. For all the work we do on and off the ice that leads to enriched lives and positive futures, we thank you for your contributions and encourage you to continue to support us throughout the year. We’ll keep our GoFundMe link open for anyone who’s looking to get a last minute donation in.
Thanks to all and #itsagreatdaytobeabanner
